Pastor John continues our series in John with Jesus Great Divider. How does Jesus approach division?
This sermon explores how Jesus divided people over his origin and mission, and why this was necessary for the ultimate purpose of revealing the truth about himself. The sermon uses examples from history to show how division has occurred in other famous moments, including Moses dividing the sea and Abraham and Lot’s sibling rivalry. The sermon argues that unity is important, but not at the expense of truth, and that the gospel is inherently divisive. Despite causing division, Jesus did not leave without hope, as many believed because of the signs he performed. The sermon concludes by highlighting the importance of trusting in Jesus, even if our prayers for healing are not answered.
